Your Child and the Library - Child Left Unattended on Library Premises & Policy Statement

The City of Commerce Library encourages children of all ages to visit the library with their parents to take advantage of the resources available for them to meet their informational, recreational, and educational needs. It is the responsibility of parents to insure the appropriate behavior of their children in the library. Disruptive children will be required to leave after one warning. Library Staff is not responsible for the supervision of children left unattended by their parents. Library staff may notify the appropriate authorities if they have reason to suspect that there is significant evidence of abuse or neglect.

La Biblioteca de la Ciudad de Commerce anima a losniños de todas edades que visiten la biblioteca con sus padres para beneficiarse de los recursos disponibles que satisfagan sus necesidades educativas, informativas y recreativas. Es la responsabilidad de los padres de asegurar el buen comportamiento de sus hijos en la biblioteca. A los niños que no se comporten correctamente se les pedirá que dejen la biblioteca después de un primer aviso. El personal de la biblioteca no es responsable de la supervisión de los niños que sus padres dejen solos en la biblioteca. El personal de la biblioteca podría notificar a las autoridades apropiadas si sospechan que existe suficiente evidencia de abuso o negligencia.
