The California Library State Parks Pass

Thanks to the California State Library Parks Pass program, Library Card holders can enjoy free access to over 200+ participating state parks. Checkout a Pass at your Commerce Public Library.

How does it work?

Please call the library at (323) 722-6660 to see if a Library Parks Pass is available. Then place a hold over the phone. We'll hold the Park Pass for you until the end of the business day. Holds are only available by phone for same-day pick-up.

Enjoy free vehicle day entry to California State Parks for two weeks. During the checkout period, passes can be used at more than one California State Park. See additional details below.

Who can borrow a pass?

Anyone 18 and over with a valid library card in good standing can enjoy the pass for two weeks. One Library Park Pass per patron at a time

Can I renew the Library Parks Pass?

In order to provide wide access, the Library Parks Passes are not renewable. The Park Pass must be returned by the due date. If not returned, the pass will be reported lost and deactivated after the due date.

What if I lose the Library Parks Pass? Is there a cost for a lost pass?

Please inform the library if the pass is lost. There is a $5.00 processing fee for a lost pass.

What are the terms and conditions of the Library Parks Pass?

  • The pass is valid for entry of one passenger vehicle with a capacity of nine people or less or one highway-licensed motorcycle at participating state park units.
  • Passes will be valid at 200+ participating state park units. The pass will not be honored at state park units operated by federal or local government, and private agencies or concessionaires, or at parks that do not require a vehicle day-use pass, such as marine areas or kayak-in parks.
  • The pass is not valid for per-person entry or tour fees (such as museums), boat use, camping, group use or sites, special events, additional/extra vehicle fees, sanitation disposal use, or for supplemental fees.
